Pearl Edna Brawn
1922-2010
The passing of Pearl Edna Brawn, wife of the late Samuel K. Brawn, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on March 9, 2010 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born on February 12, 1922 in Stanley, NB, she was a daughter of the late James Jones, Gussie (Wilkins) Jones and her step-mother, Merinda Jones, who raised her. She was a member of Nashwaaksis United Baptist Church, the Senior Women’s Missionary Society of the Church, a member of the Hummingbirds and financially supported and volunteered in numerous charities.
Pearl is survived by her daughter-in-law, Maureen Bell (Richard) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mel), Shawn (Erin), Rory (Tracy), Ryan (Tessa), Patrick (Carla) and Andrew (Kim); great grandchildren, Brittany, Abigale, Alexander, Madison and Sidney; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, parents and step-mother, she was predeceased by her daughters, Carole Anne Brawn and infant daughter, Faye Helene; son, Stephen Brawn; sisters, Violet Ashfield, Olive Bird and Florence Williams; brothers, Wilson, Raymond, Percy and Norman Jones; step sister, Mary Craig.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home Ltd., 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Nashwaaksis United Baptist Church on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Kevin Culberson officiating. Interment will take place at the Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Y’s Men’s Club (Nashwaaksis) or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
